What is csv file?

CSV file is a text file that uses a comma to separate values. Each row defines by a new line so you will have a table that separates the columns by comma and the rows by newlines. You can open the CSV file by NotPad and NotPad++ and any text editor easily but also you can open the CSV file by Excel.

CSV is a simple file format used to store tabular data. the IBM Fortran (level H extended) compiler under OS/360 supported them in 1972.

To create a CSV file with an editor, first choose your favorite text editors, such as Notepad in Windows or vim in Linux, and open a new file. Then enter the text data you want the file to contain, separating each element with a comma and each row with newlines then save it.
